Sister Mary Georgette Lingle, 91, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at The Villa at Florham Park, Florham Park, NJ.
Sister Mary Georgette was born Carbondale, PA, the daughter of Harry W. and Mary F. (Corrigan) Lingle. She entered the Sisters of Charity on October 2, 1949 and was a member for 67 years.
She graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, New Jersey with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education.
Sister Mary Georgette ministered in education in New Jersey. She served as teacher in Our Lady of Victories School, Jersey City; she assisted in the office of Procuratrix, Convent of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station; she was a teacher in Our Lady of Sorrows School, South Orange; Assumption School, Morristown; St. Brendan School, Clifton; St. Michael School, Newark; Holy Name School, East Orange; and Sacred Heart School, Bloomfield. Sister Georgette remained in residence in Sacred Heart Convent until 2010 when she became a resident of the Villa until her death.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; nieces and nephews and predeceased by her parents, brothers, Jack, Paul and Harry and her sister, Mary.
