Sister Anne McDonald, 83, formerly Sister Cordis Marie, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, died Saturday, December 17, 2016 at The Villa at Florham Park, Florham Park, N.J.
Sister Anne was born in Orange, N.J., the daughter of Gerald and Sara (McGeehan) McDonald. She entered the Sisters of Charity on October 1, 1951 and was a member for 65 years.
Sister Anne graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station, N.J. with a B.A. degree in Spanish and from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA with a M.Ed degree in Counseling Psychology. Sister Anne was an Educator in the State of New Jersey. She served as a teacher at St. Bridget School, Jersey City; St. Agnes School, Paterson; Corpus Christi School, Hasbrouck Heights; Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Ridgewood; St. Peter School, New Brunswick. Sister Anne was Principal at Holy Trinity School, Hackensack. She was Assistant Director of Food/Nutrition Department at the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station; Asst. Coordinator of PAC, Catholic Community Services, Cranford; a Volunteer at Northwest Convent Hospital, Denville and St. Clare Hospital, Denville. She was the Secretary/Treasurer of Sister Miriam Teresa League, Sisters of Charity, Convent Station. She retired to the Villa in 2014 where she resided until her death.
She is survived by the Sisters of Charity; and her sister Sally McDonald Saharko; and many nieces and nephews.
