Obituary of SISTER MARION FARRELL

Sister Marion Farrell, a Sister of Charity of St. Elizabeth, passed away Sunday evening, April 9, 2017 at the Villa at Florham Park. She was 74. Sister Marion was born in Hackensack, NJ, the daughter of William and Marion (Weisberger) Farrell. She entered the Sisters of Charity on August 18, 1997 and was a member for 19 years. Sister Marion graduated from Clara Maass School of Nursing, Belleville, NJ with an RN in Nursing. Sister Marion served in the health ministry in New Jersey and New York. She served as a Social Worker in Fox House, New York, NY. She was an Administrator at St. Francis Residence, Paterson, and an Administrator in training at Preakness Healthcare Center, Wayne. She was Director of Health & Wellness at St. Joseph Rest Home, Paterson, and Director of Social Services at Lincoln Hill Village, West Milford, NJ. Before her illness, Sister Marion served as Administrator of St. Anne Villa in Convent Station, NJ. Sister Marion entered the religious life later in life, and is survived by the Sisters of Charity; her daughter, Shannon (Farrell) Tremel (Charles); sons, John Farrell, and Christopher Farrell (Joette); and her grandchildren, Jessica and Charlie Tremel, and Brielle and Lauren Farrell. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Sisters of Charity Development Fund, P.O. Box 476, Convent Station, NJ 07961-0476 would be greatly appreciated.
