Obituary of TERESA MORONEY

Teresa Moroney (nee Murphy) passed away Friday morning, May 26, 2017 at the Lake Hiawatha home of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family. She was 84. A native of Glasgow, Scotland, Mrs. Moroney was raised in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Hopatcong, before coming to Parsippany 23 years ago. She had been a teacher's aide at St. Peter the Apostle School in Parsippany before retiring in 2003. Previously, she was an administrative assistant for the Mount Olive Child Care and Learning Center. Mrs. Moroney was a longtime member of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church Parsippany, as well as its Golden Age Club, and the Baldwin Oaks Social Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. "Buddy" Moroney Jr., an infant son, Gerard Moroney; a grandson, Michael Moroney; and a brother, Peter J. Murphy. Survivors include her children, George J. Moroney III and his wife Marguerite of Ambler, PA, Mary Franchini and her husband Joseph of Lake Hiawatha, Elizabeth Moroney of Rockaway, and Eileen O'Sullivan and her husband Thomas of Hopatcong, NJ; her siblings, Walter Murphy of Queens, NY and Eileen Kopp of Brooklyn, NY; and eight grandchildren, Joe, Jonathan, Sheila, Tess, Sarah, Shannon, Colin, and Ryan.
