Although I am an Episcopalian, I taught for one year at St. Francis Catholic School in Ridgefield Park which is where I met Sister Rosemary. She was a pip! I enjoyed her, and she is the only Staff member who kept in touch with me long after I left the school. I also had a friend who knew Sister Rosemary from when he was a student at St. Francis. He liked her, too. May she know that I still think of her, and may she be resting in peace.

Today I discovered that Rosemary McGavin had died. I was in the same class with Rosemary at Saint Cecilia's High School, Englewood. I too remember her wonderful sense of humor. However, let me tell you that she was my date for the senior prom in 1950. Our clasmates thought it was a perfect match. She was going to enter the convent and I was going to enter the seminary to become priest. I did become a priest, and after high school we did not meet again until many, many years later. When my mother died in 1999, Rosemary came to the wake. It was a joy to see her and share some memories. I am sorry to learn of her passing, but I will always remember her.
