Peter Hayes was a great guy! I haven't seen Peter in over 50 years but I have followed his accomplishments in the press with great admiration, I met Peter and the entire Hayes Family in 1947 when our family moved to Hawthorne Avenue in East Orange. Peter and I became great friends we played games together. The Hayes had the only Basketball Backboard on the street. We played in the backyard, garage and in the house. Of great memory was the many Chess matches Peter and I played. He was an excellent Chess Player. Peter you will be sorely missed. On behalf of my family Muriel,Walter,Jean Peggy and myself we want to express our greatest sympathies to Mary,Butch and Hank. May God Richly Bless you! Larry Corrin

As a Freshman 52 years ago , Fr. Giles was my first dorm counselor and went out of his way to learn about me and my family . He made me comfortable as a new boarding student and our friendship has lasted these many years. There was no stronger advocate of Delbarton for his seventy year service to the institution. Abbot Giles P. Hayes left his indelible mark on Delbarton. Fr. Giles as we knew him left his indelible mark on all of us who knew him. He will be missed but never forgotton. Peace!

Abbot Giles, then Pete Hayes, was a senior at Delbarton when I arrived as a Freshman. Great guy then and a born leader. He will be remembered for many accomplishments throughout his remarkable life and missed by so many for his friendship. Bob Dunn '59
