Letha Mildred Cabalar (nee Akerson) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at her home in Lake Parsippany. She was 85. Letha was born to Martin and Mildred Akerson in Caribou, Maine, where she was raised and attended school. She came to NJ in 1967, settling in Montclair. She had lived in Montclair until 2004 when she moved to Lake Parsippany. She was a homemaker. Letha was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years; Luciano Cabalar, her parents, Martin and Mildred Akerson and her son; Antonio Cabalar. She is survived by; her son; Ricardo Cabalar of Lake Hiawatha, and his girlfriend Marta Caraballo, her son; Kevin Cabalar of Bellville and his wife Tracy, her daughter; Linda Cabalar of Parsippany and her boyfriend Bill Menagh, her sisters; Marlene Kalankiewicz of Pennsylvania , Erma Tanzosh of Maine and Doreen Hallett of Maine, six grandchildren; Antonio's children; Anthony, Martin, and Victoria, and their mother; Debra Cabalar, Ricardo's children; Richard and Steven, and Kevin's daughter; Cheryl, eight great-grandchildren; Maykela, Gage, Trey, Drew, Sienna, Brianna, Maddox, and Penelope, many nieces and nephews, and her care-giver; Dawn.
