Obituary of ERNEST ERNIE LOMBARDI

Ernest "Ernie" as he was known to all, passed away Thursday April 5, 2018, at his home in Lake Hiawatha. He was 72. Ernie was born in California to Gianni and Angela Lombardi, at the end of WWII, while his father was serving in the Army. Shortly after his birth Ernie's father was discharged from the Army and returned to Paterson, NJ with his family. Ernie was raised in Paterson and attended school there. There were fond memories of the Lombardi Family Bakery on 21st Avenue in Paterson. Ernie was a Mail Handler for the U.S. Postal Service for 44 years, serving in the Paterson Postal Facility. He was also a classic car enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his parents; Gianni and Angela. Ernie is survived by his loving wife of 33 years; Linda (nee Cormier)Lombardi, his step-daughter; Michelle Vallee, and his brothers; Vincent and John Lombardi. Cremation was private.
