Carmen E. Guarino, 89, a longtime resident of Towaco, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Carmen was born and raised in Belleville, NJ. Following graduation from Belleville High School in 1946, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a corporal during the Korean War. He was married to his childhood sweetheart Theresa Zecca and they were blessed with seven children. He worked for Allied Chemical in Morristown, NJ as an electrician for over 30 years until his retirement in 1994.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Carmen will be remembered for his deep love for his family, honesty and integrity, and kindness to everyone he met.
In addition to his beloved wife Theresa of 67 years, Carmen is survived by five sons, Michael Guarino, Wayne Guarino and wife Terri, Carmen Guarino Jr., Paul Guarino, Gerard Guarino and wife Maria, and two daughters, Mary Ann Regan and husband Ed, and Drina Trifari and husband Don; ten grandchildren, Michael Jr., Joseph, Wayne Jr., Thomas, Don Jr., Andrew, Michael J., Michael G., Gina and Giuliana; five great grandchildren, Kristian, Fiona, Joseph Jr., Giancarlo and Vincenzo. He also leaves a sister Rae Iacovelli and husband Carl, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emanuel and Mary (nee Ciano), sister Molly McKinstry and grandson Matthew Regan waiting to greet him in heaven.
