so sorry for the loss of Sister Winnifred.
She was a good athlete back in her MRM basketball days and her softball
days for the Esquirettes. I remember the trips when she joined the convent
and visiting. A great loss for her sister community.
Loraine Sumner, coach of the esquirettes.

You are so right in that we all became better people by knowing Winnie!

We knew you as Winnie not Winfred or Sister John but Winnie our Aquatic coach. A woman who through her laughter and music molded a group of strangers into a club of friends. She taught us to reach out to one another accept each other no matter what our backgrounds, she showed us compassion her way and I believe we are all better having know her, Today she sits in heaven with the man she devoted her life to Our Lord and fondly looking down on us she wants us to live life, keep on laughing, enjoying ourselves,.to be free, then she will know with every breath we take we will be taking one for her. Winnie may you swim with the angels in peace and joy. You have left your mark on all of us you will be greatly missed, You have ignited a passion for exercise and socialization in all of us Lets hope we can continue your dream by reaching out to others. I leave you with a favorite saying of Winnie's
What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us

My husband and I first met Winnie in the New Vitality aquatic program. She was a breath of fresh air and used to kid me about how uncoordinated I was. After a while she said I should be an instructor.
Our common bond was our love of nursing. We use to fret about getting CEU's but laugh after we filled our requirement.
We moved from No Jersey in 2015 but kept our friendship up by phone or e-mail. Ironically I just mailed her a postcard from the Grand Canyon.
We will never forget Winnie and treasure our friendship.
It was both an honor and a privilege to have been friends with her.
May she Rest In Peace!

My dear friend Winnie. You were in my life for a short time but I learned very quickly that you were filled with love and concern for others. God Bless You and thank you for all the laughs and songs we had in our exercise swim class. You were a true friend, a great swim instructor and loved by all. I will never forget our routine to "Cows"... it was Broadway quality. I will miss you very much.
Love
