Obituary of TEODORA LAURETA SOMERA

Teodora Laureta Somera, age 92, passed away Wednesday morning, August 15, 2018 at Trinitas Hospital in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Mrs. Somera was born on November 9, 1925 in Makati Rizal, Philippines emigrated to the United States in 1977, settling in the Pine Brook section of Montville Township, New Jersey. Mrs. Somera was a homemaker and a loving mother to sixteen children. She was a business woman and entrepreneur. She is survived by seven daughters: Constancia (Connie) S. Uy, Erlinda (Erly) S. Reyes, Thelma S. Green, Elsa S. Coronado, Virginia (Pinky) L. Nabba, Deirdre Benilde Dunn and Anastacia (Annie/Taz) L. Somera; by five sons: Alfredo (Freddie) L. Somera, Nazario (Whyte/INA) L. Somera, Ricardo (Ric) L. Somera, Samuel (Sonny) L. Somera and Danilo (Danny) L. Somera; by fourteen in-laws: Nestor L. Uy, Rufina M. Somera, Prescila U. Somera, Simon John Ernest Bodger, Diwata V. Somera, Nilo R. Reyes, Ernesto T. Enriquez, Kenneth Earl Green, Edmundo Rey C. Coronado, Louis E. Nabba, John J. Dunn, Sweetie Jison, Monica Macabellin, Alice D. Somera and Raul C. Parungao; by twenty-three grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Mauricia L. Guiua and Trini L. Miller; her stepmother Paz Breso vda. de Laureta; two half brothers Conrado Laureta and Ferdinand Laureta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Florencio D. Somera, Sr., three sons, Narciso L. Somera, Florencio L. Somera, Jr. and Nelson L. Somera; a daughter, Josephine S. Parungao; and one grandchild, Miguel Benito (Iggy) S. Reyes.
