Obituary of ALVIN A. DUERST

Alvin A. Duerst passed away Friday evening, August 31, 2018 at Troy Hills Care Center following a brief illness. He was 90. Born in New Glaros, WI, he came to NJ many years ago. He had lived in Bergen County, then Hopatcong, NJ before coming to Netcong, NJ 23 years ago. Mr. Duerst served in the United States Air Force. He was a chef with J.P.'s Café in Clifton for over 25 years before retiring. More recently, he had worked as a sales associate with BJ's and Sam's Club in Mount Olive. He is survived by his wife Carol (nee Jennings); step children, Ed Roth of Newton and Michelle Sansone of Sparta; and a sister, Rose of Wisconsin. At the rest of the family, arrangements are private.
