Sister Jean was my fifth grade teacher at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Long branch NJ. The year was 1972. I spoke with her several years to thank her for changing my life. At age 11, she was the first teacher who believed in me. What a difference that made for my continuing education. I will forever be grateful. God Bless you Sister Jean as you are rejoycing in God presence.

I Iived in the house of Carolyn Kolb on Ocean Blvd. in Atlantic Highlands, NJ. with my parents. When I married Peter Donoghue Mrs. Kolb and Mary let us use their place to get ready for the wedding at St Agnes in October 1966. We moved one block away and have been married 52 years. I was blessed to meet Sister Jean , then Sister Rose, when I was 5 years old St. Paul of the Cross School, Jersey City, NJ. She was a Novist in charge of many children. I struggled because I was left-handed and they wanted to make me a right-handed student. She spoke to my parents, Philip & Jennie Colella , and from that day she became a big part of our family & we of hers. Over the years we stayed close. I visited 2 weeks before she passed and will always have her close to my heart. Love to you in Heaven Mary Colella McCann
