Obituary of PRASHANT DESAI

Prashant Desai passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 14, 2019 at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, NJ, surrounded by his loving family. He was 64. Born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, he immigrated to the United States in 1995, settling in the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany, NJ. He subsequently lived in Florida before recently returning to Maplewood, NJ. Mr Desai earned his Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Chemistry while living in India. He was the manager of Radhey Industries in India from 1989 until 1995. Previously he was a chemist with Atul Products, also in India. While in the United States, he worked as an electrical technician with the Kulite Semiconductor Company of Leonia, NJ, retiring in 2017. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jigna Desai; his children, Meghan Desai and his wife Leslie Huang of California and Rushita Shah and her husband Daivik of Florida; his siblings, Umesh Desai of Lake Parsippany, NJ, Palavi Desai of Chicago, IL, and Alka Chokshi of Parsippany, NJ; and three grandchildren, Jeeya and Kiara Shah and Samantha Lia Desai.
