Obituary of DR. DAVID E. ABKIN

Dr. David E. Abkin passed away Tuesday evening, November 26, 2019 at his home in Bloomfield, in the presence of his loving family. He was 86. Born in Leningrad, Russia, he was a longtime resident of Russia before immigrating to the United States in 1991, settling in Bloomfield, NJ. Dr. Abkin was a 1955 graduate of the Leningrad Medical University in Russia. He had worked as a pediatric surgeon while living in Russia. After coming to the United States, he worked as a researcher with the Pathology Department at University Hospital in Newark, retiring in 2005. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Zinaida Margulis; two sons, Dr. Alexander Abkin and his wife Elizabeth of Mendham, NJ and Dr. Arkadiy Abkin of Madison, NJ; and three grandchildren, Eric, Hannah, and Sasha.
