Kenneth Bennett Lane passed away Friday morning, December 13, 2019 at Care One at Morris in Parsippany, NJ. He was 91.
Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Mr. Lane began vacationing with his family in the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany in 1938 before moving here permanently in 1960. He was currently residing in Boonton.
Mr. Lane served in the Civil Air Patrol, (now called the National Guard) at the end of World War II.
He attended the Julliard School of Music in New York and later earned his Bachelors Degree from the Manhattan School of Music in 1958.
Fluent in Italian and a Wagner Helden (Heroic) Tenor, Mr. Lane had performed with the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Italy, and later with the Metropolitan Opera for many years. He had four performances at Carnegie Hall. His last concert was given in March 2019 at the New Yorker Hotel in Manhattan, at the age of 91. His performances can be heard at www.wagneropera.com.
Preceded in death by his dear parents, Morris and Celia (nee Goldstein) Lane, he is survived by his beloved brother, Dr. Benjamin C. Lane of Lake Hiawatha and many friends.
