Obituary of JACK DOUGLAS QUINN

Douglas Quinn (Jack Quinn) passed away on December 28, 2019 at his apartment at the Chelsea in Montville. He was 92 years old.
Doug was born in Charlotte, NC and grew up mostly in Manhattan. During the Depression (age 3- 8), Doug and his older sister lived in West Chester, PA with a wonderful woman named Mother Tigue and her sons. He loved them dearly and his life there helped shape him into the man he became.
Doug served in the U.S. Navy during WWll and was stationed in Hawaii.
After the war, he graduated from Newark School of Fine Arts in NJ and became a Commercial Artist for the Hearst Publications company in NYC. He was an Art Director for the magazine called Popular Mechanics. He also taught art at the Newark School of Fine Arts.
In 1949, Doug married Helen Reid (deceased) and they had 5 children: Melinda, Kevin, Darrin, Doug, and Brian. Doug was a loving father and then Grandfather to 11 Grandchildren. He loved family life!
Doug was a true artist, and always found beauty in the world around him. He also loved photography and loved to film his children through all stages of their lives.
Doug had a great joy of life and was an excellent diver, swimmer, and dancer! His knowledge and appreciation for films was deep. His family and friends will remember his kind and patient ways. He was always a peacemaker. Always positive and finding the best in life.
Doug was predeceased by his sister Dorothy Henderson.
He is survived by his younger sister Joan Garvin and his five children mentioned above. And his Grandchildren named below:
Dan, Katie, Lauren, Ian, Reid, Sawyer, Sydney, Lloyd, Kyle, Alex and Reid. And his Grandchildren Matt and Carrie Losneck through his daughter's marriage to Jim Losneck.
