Obituary of ANSUYA S. UPADHYA

Ansuya Sureshchandra Upadhya passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at New Grove manor Nursing Center in East Orange. She was 85. Born in Surat, Gujarat, India, she immigrated with her family to Ghana, West Africa in 1961, and later the United States in 1998, settling in Montville, NJ. She earned her Masters Degree in the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit from the Gujarat University in India. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Sureshchandra Upadhya on January 31, 2020; and a brother, Abhay Smart. Survivors include her four beloved children, Jyoti Desai of West Windsor, NJ, Vimalkumar Upadhya of Montville Township, Hiran Upadhya of Texas, and Dipti Waghray of Texas; a brother, Jayesh Smart of Lodi, NJ; three sisters, Geeta Shukla of Surat, India, Nita Smart of Lodi, NJ and Meena Bhatt of Surat, India; and six loving grandchildren, Rahul V. Upadhya, Ravi V. Upadhya, Seema D. Desai, Amar D. Desai, Shishir R. Waghray, and Shruti R. Waghray. IN THE INTEREST OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH, ALL SERVICES AND CREMATION AT ROSEDALE CREMATORY WILL BE PRIVATE FOR THE FAMILY.
