George Erick Barnes passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 in Parsippany. He was 49.
Born in Boonton Township, George was a lifelong resident of the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany.
He had worked as a self employed private pilot and flight instructor.
Georgie loved all animals and dedicated his life to saving them. He had a difficult condition that he battled throughout his whole life. He suffered immensly, and is finally at peace. Please pray for him.
He was preceded in death by his hero, his father, George N. Barnes on May 2, 2020, his paternal grandparents, George Barnes and Maisie Evans Barnes; his maternal grandparents, Anthony Licata and Fannie Traxler Licata; his aunts, Rose Ann and Marion, and his special aunt, Elaine Licata; cousins, John and Patricia Walsh; and his close friend, Jason Johnson.
Survivors include his beloved mother, Annette (nee Licata) Barnes of Parsippany; his loving sister, Nicolle Barnes Losonczy of Lake Hiawatha; his nephews, Paul N. Litwa of Dayton, NJ and Andrew Losonczy of Lewes, DE; a niece, Rebecca Dwyer of Mine Hill, NJ; his brand new great niece born June 22, Sadie Lynn Dwyer; his uncles and aunts, Joseph and Karen Licata of Palm Coast, FL, Ross and Cheryl Licata of Tennessee, and Gladys Walsh of Covington, KY; and his cousins Jeff, Lynn, Christine, Mike, Nadine, Dawn, Darlene, Donna, Joey, Regina, Ross Jr., and Chris. He is also survived by many other relatives and loving friends in Lake Hiawatha.
Due to restrictions relative to COVID, attendance at the visitation and Funeral Service on Friday evening will be limited. Please contact his sister for details. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe Page has been established to assist with funeral expenses.
