Obituary of Daniel F.X. Ferry

Mr. Daniel F.X. Ferry Sr. died Saturday morning, January 29, 2005 at the Troy Hills Nursing Home/ Genesis Eldercare in Parsippany following a long illness. He was 83. Born and raised in Weehawkin, he had lived in Union City for 29 years and Wantage Township for 22 years before moving recently to Parsippany. Mr. Ferry had served in the U.S.Army during World War II. He was stationed in Europe and Africa. He was employed as a transportation supervisor with NJ Transit in Union City for over 40 years retiring in 1983. Mr. Ferry was a member of St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church in Sussex where he served as a lector and collection counter. he was also a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Carroll Council # 1273 in West New York. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Florence M. (nee Morrison); two sons, Daniel F.X. Ferry Jr. of Lake Hiawatha and William Ferry of Lake Hopatcong; three daughters, Kathleen Stiano of Lompoc,CA, Patricia Bey of Lake Mohawk, and Margaret Chromey of Stroudsburg,PA; a sister Claire Conley of Florida; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
