Obituary of JAMES C. VOLLMAYER

Mr. James Coles Vollmayer died Sunday morning, April 17, 2005 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville following a brief illness. He was 85.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, he had lived most of his life there before moving to Montville Township, NJ in 1994.
Mr. Vollmayer proudly served his country as a U.S. Army Airforce Lieutenant. He flew over 50 missions in Italy during World War II.
He earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Toledo, in 1959.
Mr. Vollmayer had worked as a personnel manager in the Labor Relations Department of the Dial Corporation, Toledo, Ohio before retiring in 1988. Previously, he had worked as Industrial Relations Director with the Allied Signal Company in Toledo, OH, and New York, NY.
He was a daily communicant of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Montville where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and had been a volunteer with the Montville Township First Aid Squad. He was also an avid tennis player.
Survivors include; his wife of 60 years, Helen Louise (nee Shrewsbury); a daughter, Cheryl Bernritter of Michigan; a son, David Vollmayer and his wife Louise of Towaco; a sister Suzanne Girkins of Toledo; four grandchildren, Devon, Peter, Daniel, and Douglas; and six great-grandchildren.
