Obituary of LILA C. WAINER

Mrs. Lila C. (nee Klein) Wainer died suddenly Saturday evening, April 30, 2005 at NY Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, NY. She was 79. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY she had been a resident of the White Meadow Lake section of Rockaway Townhip for the last 56 years. She also wintered in Boynton Beach, Florida for the past 10 years. Mrs. Wainer earned her BA in Education from Hunter College in 1945 and her MA in Education from the former Newark State College in 1962. She had worked as an educator and department supervisor in the Art Department with Rockaway Township Schools for 29 years retiring in 1987. She also enjoyed working in sales with Sunset Printing, her family's printing business. Mrs. Wainer was a 56 year member of the White Meadow Temple, the NJ Educators Association and the Women's Organization for Rehabilitation Training. Survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, Theodore "Ted" Wainer; two sons, Mitchell D. Wainer and his wife Suzi and Robert Wainer and his wife Hope all of Rockaway; a daughter, Susan W. Scheer and her husband Gary of Morristown; two sisters, Joyce Cooper and her husband Sy of Marlboro, and Ruth Appel of Manalapan; and her ten grandchildren, Jared, Rachel, Joshua, Deron, Seth, Morgan, Zachary, Ariel, Jessica, and Jacob. Lila will be best remembered for her easy smile, her wit, and her love and devotion to her family.
