Obituary of BERNARD F. WROBLESKI

Mr. Bernard F. Wrobleski died Wednesday morning, May 25, 2005 at the Compassionate Care Hospice in St. Clare's Hospital, Dover. He was 80. Born in Philadelphia, PA., he had lived in Newark and Irvington before coming to Parsippany in 1956. Mr. Wrobleski served his country as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army-Air Force during World War II. He was a tail gunner stationed with the 8th Air Corps in England and flew 33 missions over Germany. He was awarded the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters. Following the war, he attended Seton Hall University from which he earned his Bachelors of Science in Accounting in 1952. He worked as an accountant and statistician with the Beneficial Financial Corp in Newark and later Morristown for over 30 years before retiring in 1981 as a vice president. Following his retirement, he worked as a consultant for the Carteret Savings Bank in Morristown. Mr. Wrobleski was a life member and Quartermaster with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9626 in Edison and the Catholic War Veterans Post # 885 of Newark. He was a member of the Boonton Seniors - Club 76 and had served as the group's treasurer. He was a 49-year member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Parsippany where he was a longtime usher and a founding member of the Holy Name Society and Men's Club. He was among the first lectors in the parish once laypersons were permitted to hold this position. He served on the parish building committees which built the school and convent in 1958, refurbished the original parish church and later built the current church in 1988. He was also a founder of the Bingo program and was a Bingo caller for many years. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Eleanore (nee Dashuta); two daughters, Judie Wrobleski of Lake Hiawatha and Lenore McArthur and her husband Scott of Rockaway Township; a brother Tadeusz M. Wrobleski of Edison; his precious grandchildren Jeremy, Christopher, and Grace, and seventeen nieces and nephews.
