Obituary of ROSE MARIE HOLZMANN

Ms. Rose Marie Holzmann, formerly known as Sister Mary Josephine of the Sisters of Mercy, died Wednesday morning, October 12, 2005 at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains following a long illness. She was 64. Born and raised in Jersey City, she had been a longtime resident of Hewitt before moving to Montville Township five years ago. A licensed pracital nurse, she had joined the Sisters of Mercy in Hewitt in 1969. During her tenure with the sisters, she had also served as a director of St. Joseph's Home in Hewitt. She left the order in the 1990's when the convent closed and returned to nursing until she herself became ill. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Marion (nee Fell) Holzmann and a brother Henry Holzmann. Survivors include a host of friends inncluding Patrick and Nancy Mann of Montville.
