Punamchand Parikh died peacefully, Tuesday afternoon, April 4, 2006 at the Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown. He was 93.
Born in Balasinor, India, he lived in Bombay before coming to the United States 25 years ago. He had lived in Bridgewater before moving to Parsippany.
Mr. Parikh had been a Freedom Fighter in India.
He was the proprietor of Parikh Brothers Electrical Wholesalers in Bombay, India for many years retiring 30 years ago.
Mr. Parikh became a United States citizen in 1994. He was a member of the Sanatan Mandir Temple in Parsippany.
He was preceded in death by his wife Kamalaben (nee Shah) in 1975.
Survivors include: five sons, Anil Parikh of New York, Kirit Parikh of Florida, Arun Parikh of Somerset, Piyush Parikh of Michigan, and Kaushik "Casey" Parikh of Parisppany; two daughters, Usha Gandhi of Parsippany and Trupti Shah of New York; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
