Thomas James Baxter died Tuesday morning, June 20, 2006 at Care One at Parsippany following a long illness. He was 88.
Born in New York, NY, he had lived in Bronx, NY and for 20 years in Brick, NJ before coming to Parsippany in 2003.
Mr. Baxter attended Hunter College and New York University both in New York.
He had been a police officer with the New York City Police Department, retiring as a seargeant. He later worked as a field officer and supervising investigator with the Army Corps of Engineers. He worked in harbor supervision and compliance on the Hudson River in New York, NY before retiring many years ago.
Survivors include: his wife of 63 years, Doris (nee Keegan); two daughters, Claudia Jean Nardi of Parsippany and Ursula Bennett of West Chester, PA; three sons, Thomas A. Baxter of West Palm Beach, FL, John J. Baxter of Castleton, NY, and Gregory Baxter of Denver, CO.; a brother, Frank Baxter of Bronx, NY; a sister, Ann Cusack of Connecticut; sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
