Mrs. Margaret V. (nee Biase) Palumbo died Wednesday morning, October 25, 2006 surrounded by her family at Morristown Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. She was 86.
Born and raised in Newark, she had lived in the Pine Brook section of Montville since 1959. She also maintained a home in Bradley Beach.
From an early age, Mrs. Palumbo was involved in the operation of her family's business, Biase's Restaurant in Newark. Later in life, she was a homemaker.
She was an active member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Montville and its' Rosary Society. She was also a member of Beta Phi Alph Sorority in Newark.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony F. Palumbo Sr. and her siblings Anthony, Larry, Carmen, and Philip Biase, and Rose DiNola.
Survivors include: two daughters, Florence Possumato and her husband Thomas and Veronica Catanzaro and her husband Thomas all of Montville; a son Anthony F. Palumbo Jr. and his wife Cecilia of Bel Air, MD.; two sisters, Pauline Pampinella of Clifton and Dorothy Vallo of Whiting; six grandsons, Thomas Catanzaro and his wife Lena, Logan Hancharik, Tony Palumbo III and his wife Brittnie, Edmund Palumbo, Robert Catanzaro, and Michael Palumbo; three great-grandchildren, Maggie & Tommy Catanzaro and Adrianna Palumbo, and many loving nieces and nephews.
