Mr. Louis Scharlat died Saturday evening, November 17, 2006 at his home in Hackettstown. He was 74.
Born in Clifton, he had been a longtime resident of the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany before moving to Hackettstown many years ago.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Scharlat was self employed as the owner of Lou Scharlat Trucking in Hackettstown.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Concetta (nee Testa) Scharlat; a daughter, Dale Scharlat Woolf of Chappaqua, NY; two sons, Michael Scharlat of East Rockaway, NY and Cary Scharlat of Port Washington, NY; three step-daughters, Jacqueline Welker of Florida, Karen DuBoice of Pennsylvania, and Bridget Alfaro of Hackettstown; a step-son, Edward DuBoice of Hackettstown; a sister, Evelyn Robbin of Maine; five grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren.
