Obituary of HELEN LaPENNA ARDUIN

Mrs. Helen Yolanda LaPenna Arduin died Monday morning, May 21, 2007 at the Forum Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio following a brief illness. She was 89.
Born and raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark, she had lived in East Hanover over 44 years before moving to Ohio late in 2005.
Mrs. Arduin had been a clerical worker for the State of New Jersey in Newark before retiring many years ago. She later worked as a columnist for the Regional Weekly News in East Hanover. An avid poet and writer, she had published an anthology of her works.
She was a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church in East Hanover and its Rosary Altar Society. She had served as Den Mother to Boyscout Troop 20 in East Hanover. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi International Womens Business Association, the American Association of Retired Persons, and the East Hanover Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tiziano Frank Arduin, and her siblings, Robert, Paul, and Emil LaPenna, and Louise Competiello.
Survivors include: her son Vincent F. and his wife Elizabeth of Youngstown, Ohio; her daughter, Joanne J. Arduin of Lake Hiawatha; and her adored granddaughters Elena and Emma.
