Mr. Thomas Francis Pescherine Sr. died Monday morning, October 8, 2007 at the Warren Hospital in Philipsburg following a long illness. He was 77.
Born in Brooklyn, NY he had been a resident of Parsippany since 1948 before moving to Denville several years ago.
Mr. Pescherine served as a Major in the United States Army during the Korean War. Additionally, he was an Army Reservist for 25 years following his discharge.
He had worked as a mechanical engineer with Singer-Kearfott in Paterson for 25 years befeore retiring in 1987.
Mr. Pescherine was a longtime member of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in Parsippany where he had served as an usher. He had also been active as a parent in the Parsippany High School sports programs. He served as president of the PHS Wrestling Association.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael, who died September 11, 2001 in the World Trade Center in New York.
Survivors include his wife Anne M. (nee Addesso); three sons, Thomas, David, and William; a daughter, Nancy Gionco; a brother, Frank; and eight grandchildren.
