Please share a memory of PIERA to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mrs. Piera Biadi Weedfald died Monday afternoon, March 10, 2008 at Care One at Morris in Parsippany. She was 90. Born in Livorno, Italy, she came to the United States in 1945 following World War II as a war bride. She had lived in New York City, NY, Dumont, Bergenfield, and Montville, NJ, before moving to Parsippany. A homemaker, Mrs. Weedfald had also worked as a secretary with the United States Army in Italy during the war, which enabled her to meet her late husband, Arthur A. Weedfald who died in 1993. Mrs. Weedfald had volunteered with various hospitals and the Dunrovan Nursing Home all in Bergen County. She had been a member of the Bergenfield Women's Club and a parishioner at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Montville. She is survived by a daughter, Louise M. Vollmayer and her husband David of Towaco; a son, Peter C. Weedfald and his wife Francine of Glen Ridge; and three grandchildren, Daniel, Douglas, and Tara. At the family's request, funeral services and interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery will be held privately. For those so desiring, memorial donations to Care Alternatives Hospice, 70 Jackson Drive, Suite 200, Cranford, NJ 07016 would be most appreciated.
