Mr. Gordhanbhai Patel died Tuesday morning, March 11, 2008 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville. He was 80.
Born in Narsanda, Gujarat, India, he had lived most of his life there before coming to the United States one year ago, settling in Rockaway.
Mr. Patel had worked in tobacco sales in India before retiring many years ago.
Survivors include his wife Kamalaben; two sons, Girish Patel of Rockaway and Anant Patel of Roxbury; a daughter Mina Patel of Rockaway; two brothers Kirit and Ramesh Patel of Parsippany, and six grandchildren.
