Obituary of SAMUEL F. SPORN

Mr. Samuel F. Sporn died Friday, March 14, 2008 at Morristown Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness. He was 79. Born in Newark, he had lived in Hillside and Parsippany for 35 years before moving to Rockaway in 2001. He served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948. Mr. Sporn had worked in plastics development with the Resistoflex Corp in Roseland for 20 years before his retirement. He was preceed in death by his wife Roerta "Bobbie" Sporn in 2001. Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Daly and her husband Dave of Newton; a son, Philip Sporn and his wife Lori of Randolph; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Rhoda Witzel; and four grandchildren, Andrew, Lindsay, Jeremy and Jonathan. The family will observe a period of mourning following the funeral on Sunday from 1-6pm and on Monday from 7-9pm at Sam's late residence in Rockaway.
