Mr. William Cohen died Monday morning, April 28, 2008 at Merry Heart Nursing home in Boonton Township following a long illness. He was 90. Born in Manhattan, NY, he had lived in Bronx, NY before moving to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany in 1957. Mr. Cohen had served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was stationed in India. He earned his bachelors degree in chemical engineering from the City College of New York. A self-employed engineer for many years, he had also been a member of the Lake Hiawatha Jewish Center and its Men's Club. His loving wife Miriam (nee Birnbaum) preceded him in death in 2002. Survivors include: two sons, Matthew of Westport, MA and Ira of Brookline, MA.; a daughter, Rebecca Cohen of Lake Hiawatha; a brother, Emanuel of Bethpage, NY; and a granddaughter, Bonnie.
