Obituary of WALLACE C. BARNES

Wallace C. Barnes died Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Genesis/ Troy Hills Nursing Center in Parsippany., He was 90. Born in South Kingston, Rhode Island, he had lived in Westerly, Rhode Island before moving to Parsippany, NJ in 2003. He served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II. He had worked in the maintenance department with the Westerly Hospital in Westerly. He later worked as an auto mechanic with Pawcatauk Auto Parts in Rhode Island retiring 28 years ago. Mr. Barnes was a member of the Free & Accepted Masons, Franklin Lodge in Westerly where he earned his 32nd degree. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Charlotte D. (nee Clemens); a son, William Barnes of Rockaway; a sister Barbara of California; and two granddaughters, Meghan Ann and Erica Charlotte Barnes. Cremation will be private, with interment to follow at the family plot in Rhode Island.
