Obituary of PABLO PORRAS

Pablo Porras died Monday evening, June 30, 2008 at the Morris Hills Multicare Center in Morristown. He would have celebrated his 102nd birthday in several weeks. Born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he had lived in Bronx, NY for over 50 years before coming to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany in 2005. Mr. Porras had served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II and later had a lengthy career with the Merchant Marines retiring in 1979. He was preceded in death by his son Fernando Porras. Survivors include a sister, Isolina; three grandchildren, Nicole, Damian, and Winifer; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews including his dear niece Providencia Mayens.
