Thomas F. Ray died Thursday evening, November 6, 2008 at Genesis Eldercare/Morris Hills Care Center in Morristown following a long illness. He was 95.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he had lived in Port Jervis, NY for 28 years before moving to the care center in Morristown in 2004.
He had been a longshoreman with the Local #1814 in Brooklyn for 45 years before retiring 30 years ago.
Mr. Ray was an avid fan of the Horse Races.
He was preceded in death by his wife Louise (nee Wickre)Sampson Ray in 2000.
Survivors include his step-children, Mary Sobierajski of Lake Hiawatha, Louis Sampson of Hawley, PA., and David Sampson of Daytona Beach, FL.; seven step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
