Edward A. Fredericks Jr. died Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Morristown Memorial Hospital. He was 76.
Born and raised in Hackensack, he had lived in Dumont before moving to Parsippany 30 years ago.
Mr. Fredericks served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, attaining the rank of sargeant.
He had been a police officer with the city of Hackensack for many years. Later, he worked for A & P Supermarkets in Montvale, as supervisor of loss prevention. He retired in 1998.
Mr. Fredericks was a member of the Marine Corps League, the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Association, the Korean War Veterans, and the Knights of Columbus, Dumont Council.
An avid golfer, he was also a longtime member of the Knoll Country Club in Parsippany.
Survivors include: three sons, Edward J. Fredericks of Stillwater, Philip Fredericks of Dumont,and Kevin Fredericks of Carol Stream, IL.; a daughter, Kathleen Kinnish of Willard, MD; a sister, Joan Wein of Florida; and seven grandchildren.
