Obituary of NICOLINA PALUMBO

Mrs. Nicolina Palumbo (nee Mariani) died peacfully Sunday December 14, 2008 at Morristown Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was 86. Born in Macchia D'Isernia, Italy, she immigrated to the United States in 1971, settling in Nutley. She had also lived in Bloomfield before moving to Montville 4 1/2 years ago. Mrs. Palumbo had worked as a seamstress with the Sulton Co. in Passaic for many years, and later in the kitchen at Mazur's in Nutley before retiring in 1989. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Romolo Cifelli, a son-in-law Mario Tanelli, and three siblings in Italy. Survivors include: her husband of 68 years, Cosentino; a son, Antonio Palumbo of Montville; three daughters, Eva Tanelli of Belleville, Leorita Cifelli and her husband Joseph of Belleville, and Michelle Callandrello and her husband Michael of Montville; three sisters and three brothers all of Italy; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
