Michelangelo Colavita died Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. He was 70.
Born in St Elia a Pianisi, Italy, he came to the United States in 1972 settling in Newark. He had also lived in Orange before moving to Parsippany many years ago.
Mr. Colavita had worked as a mechanic for Roselli Disposal in Fairfield for over 35 years.
He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Parsippany.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Angelina (nee Santullo); a daughter, Marianna Colavita of East Hanover; a son, Michael Colavita and his wife Sara of Barnegat; and a granddaughter, Daniela Dellanno.
