Obituary of JOHN MICHAEL SHEEDY

John Michael Sheedy died suddenly Sunday morning, March 28, 2010 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville. He was 81. Born in Brooklyn, NY haw was raised in and lived in Queens, NY many years before coming to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany 17 years ago. Mr. Sheedy had worked as a delivery dispatcher with the New York Daily News in New York City for 45 years before retiring 19 years ago. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Parish, the Lake Hiawatha Seniors and the Friendship Club, all of Parsippany. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ella, and a granddaughter, Lori. Survivors incluce his wife of 17 years, Victoria (nee Masone) Merckling-Sheedy; two daughters, Patricia Kern of East Northport, New York, and Joan Florio of Florida; a step-son, Wayne Merckling and his wife Susan of Lake Parsippany; four grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Terence, and Jessica, and five great-grandchildren.
