Obituary of ROBERT J. RILEY

Robert J. Riley of Lake Hiawatha, died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Orange on August 9, 2010 after a courageous six-month battle with bladder cancer.
Robert was born in Newark, and had lived in Belleville and Caldwell before moving to Lake Hiawatha.
He was a paratrooper in the 187th Airborne Regiment during the Korean War. He had worked as a roofer with Clifford Pizzi Roofing of Montville before retiring.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father, Sarah "Sally" and William Riley; his sister, Elizabeth Riley Kraemer; and his nephew, Robert Riley.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his companion of 40 years, Patricia Nash of Lake Hiawatha; his brothers, John Riley of Pahrump, NV, and and William (Patricia) Riley of Las Vegas, NV; his cousin, Carolyn Hoff of Pine Brook, NJ. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kathleen Pahrump, NV, Megan Riley and Amanda Riley (Jordan) Coleman of Las Vegas, NV, Donna (Bill) Read of Parsippany, David (Jeanne) Kraemer of Morris Plains, Deborah Colapinto of Acworth, GA, Donald Kraemer of Long Branch, NJ and Doreen Kraemer of Margate, NJ and several great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses, nurse's assistants, and students that helped them through this difficult time. At Robert's request cremation services will be private. Memorial gifts can be made to one's favorite charity.
