Mr. Harold Kaminskas, also known as Harold Kay died suddenly, Saturday, September 4, 2010 at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. He was 94. Born in Newark, he had been a lifelong resident before coming to West Orange 13 years ago. Mr. Kaminskas began his career in sales as a young man in his father's business, Kay's Department Store on Ferry Street in Newark. He founded DuKay's Imported Cars with dealerships in Elizabeth, South Orange, and Millburn. He later was an owner and salesman at J & B Glove Co. in Newark before retiring. He was a a longtime member of the Lions Club, serving as the first president of the Ironbound Lions Club in 1955. He was a member of the Newark Moose Lodge, the Ironbound Executives, and held a Fourth Degree in the Knights of Lithuania in Newark. He was also a former member of the Braidburn Country Club in Florham Park. Mr. Kaminskas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia "Jean" (nee Core) in 2005 as well as his brothers, George and Edward Kaminskas. Survivors include his two daughters, Virginia A. Scala of Parsippany, and Mary Jane Cita of West Orange; his sons-in-law, James Scala and Michael Cito; and four grandchildren, Paul, Jeffrey, Michele, and Lisa.
