Terrence V. Bennet died peacefully, Sunday morning, September 19, 2010 surrounded by his family at his home in Montville. He was 86.
Born in Colonels Ridge, Clarendon, Jamaica, he came to the United States in 1988 settling in Montville. He had lived in Parsippany before returning to Montville 12 years ago.
Mr. Bennet graduated from the Holmwood Technical School and the Jamaica School of Agriculture.
He had worked as a forrester and conservationist with the Jamaica Department of Agriculture. After coming to the U.S., he worked with Shoprite Supermarkets in Lincoln Park and Parsippany before retiring last year.
Survivors include his wife Henrietta (nee Stubbs); five children, Myrna Bennett Jackson of Montclair, NJ, Clarice Nanton of Stoneybrook, NY, Karl Bennett of Kingston, Jamaica, Vinette Adams of Houston, TX, and Bernadine Hines of Sarasota, FL; a step-son, Garnette Stubbs of Kingston, Jamaica; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many step-grandchildren.
