Ms. Maria Mejia passed away peacefully Sunday evening, October 24, 2010 at her home in Lake Parsippany following along illness. She would have celebrated her 100th birthday in December.
Born in Cayambe, Ecuador, she came to the United States over 50 years ago settling in Queens, NY. She had lived in West New York before coming to Parsippany 6 years ago.
Ms. Mejia had worked as a factory worker in Queens, NY before retiring.
She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Parsippany.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jaime Mejia and two grandsons, and is survived by a daughter, Amy Novoa; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchildren.
