Obituary of JAMES E. GALLAGHER

James E. Gallagher passed away on Friday morning, December 3, 2010 surrounded by his family at his home in Rockaway. He was 82. Born and raised in Freeland, PA, he was a longtime resident of Brooklyn, NY before moving to New Jersey in 1980. He had recently settled in Rockaway Township. Mr. Gallagher served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He had worked as an insurance adjuster with Graceline in New York City, and later at Sanko-Kisen is Cos Cob, CT before retiring in 1995. Mr. Gallagher was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Eleanor (nee Hogan); the devoted and proud father of Annmarie Cogliati (Ron) of Lake Hiawatha, James Gallagher (Mary) of Stormville, NY, Maureen Gallagher (Beverly) of Roosevet, NY, and Patrick Gallagher (Jessica) of Brooklyn, NY; and the involved and loving Poppy of Patrick, Katie, Maggie, Jimmy, Carey, and Jaiden. He was a caring son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and true friend to many. He will be missed as he was loved.
