Robert Mangini died Saturday morning, January 29, 2011 at Care One at Morris in Parsippany following a long illness. He was 89.
Born in Haskell, he had lived in Garfield before moving to Parsippany in 1953.
Mr. Mangini served in the United States Army Airforce during World War II. He was stationed in Normandy and Ardennes.
he worked as a butcher with Rocky's Choice Meats in Saddle Brook for 22 years. Later he worked as the stock room supervisor at Seton Hall University for 14 years. He retired in 1986.
Mr. Mangini was a member of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in Parsippany, the Parsippany Senior Citizens and the Polish American Club of Whippany.
He was preceded in death by his wife Irene V. (nee malkowski) on December 29, 2010, and his siblings, Andrew, Harold, Carlo, Catherine, Ida, and Anita. Survivors include his children, Robert C. mangini of Maine, and Carolyn A. mangini of Parsippany, and a brother Eugene "Bob" mangini of Florida.
Cremation will be private. Memorial service will be planned and announced in the near future.
