Obituary of RUTHANN C. CHECKE

Ruthann Christine Checke died Wednesday evening, March 23, 2011 at her sister's home in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania following a long illness. She was 66. Born in Staten Island, NY, Ms. Check was raised in Lodi, NJ and had lived in North Arlington and Clifton, NJ, before moving to Eastaboca, Alabama five years ago. She had worked with the North Arlington Police Department for some time. She was the first female crossing guard appointed in that town. Later, she worked as a sorter with United Photo and Fuji Film Coo. in Totowa. She is survived by her two daughters, Joeann Potocki and Janet Potocki, both of Alabama; her siblings, Eleanor Thurston of Georgia, Nellie Chritine Schmid of Florida, Edward Checke of South Carolina, Adam Checke of Lake Hiawatha, NJ , Christine Checke of Pennsylvania, and Mary Korsakoff of Hackettstown, NJ; and two grandchildren, Lisa, serving in the U.S. Military, and Joseph.
