Obituary of ALAN J. GORDON

Alan Gordon died suddenly, Friday morning, July 8, 2011 at his home. He was 59. Born Manhattan, NY and raised in Morristown, he moved to Parsippany 25 years ago. He earned his MBA from Rutgers University in Newark in 1982. Alan worked for the Immediate Medical Care Center in Wayne for thriteen years. He then transferred to Morristown Memorial Hospital where he was the business coordinator for the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center. He was actively involved in in all aspects of Parsippany Life. Some of his greater achievements include involvement in the Parsippany Board of Education (where he served several terms from 1990-1996 and 2000-2009), the Greater Parsippany Kiwanis Club, the Parsippany Republican Club, the Parsippany Jacees, and the Parsippany Rotary Club where he had been active on the Safety Town Committee. Alan had a supportive family network and will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife Elsa; two daughters, Erika Gordon and Ariel Gordon; his mother, Renee Brown; his siblings Scott Gordon, Jody Youell and Arthur Gordon; and his mother-in-law, Adela Dubovy. A period of mourning will be observed Sunday, July 10, 6-8pm, Monday, July 11, 5-8pm, and Tuesday, July 12, 5-8pm at the family residence, 11 Ash Lane, Lake Hiawatha, NJ 07034.
