Margaret (nee Hasselwander) Mitchell of Lake Hiawatha died Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City. She was 79.
Born in Newark, she lived in Kearny before moving to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany 49 years ago.
Mrs. Mitchell was a receptionist with the Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Education for many years before retiring in 1997.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Sr.; her children, Rose Barreto and her husband Anthony, Thomas Mitchell Jr. and his wife Karen, Nancy Clark and her husband Greg, and Colleen Kloss and her husband Phil; a brother, John Hasselwander; her sister, Julia Meyers and nine grandchildren.
